While American politicians bicker over whether to pass a clean energy bill, people in India are really feeling the heat these days. Today’s Weather Underground forecast for New Delhi called for a high of 111° F. going up to 114° F. for Monday.
Here are some recent BBC headlines:
- June 25: Many die in acute Indian heatwave — A severe heatwave has claimed the lives of nearly 100 people across India, reports say.
- June 26: Schools closed in India heat wave — Economists earlier this week warned that the delayed monsoon could have a dire impact on the Indian economy.
- June 28: India heat wave sparks protests — Most of the residents at the protests are without power for between six to 10 hours a day.
