In case you missed it this past Monday (May 11), here are The Killers performing “A Dustland Fairytale,” with orchestra, on the Late Show With David Letterman.

We know nothing about The Killers, but apparently they’re from Las Vegas.

At any rate, it’s certainly a performance that grabs you by the collar and makes you take notice. I was reminded of Electric Light Orchestra at their best — which would be Eldorado. I also thought about Bruce Springsteen epics such as “Jungleland.”

Amy found the singer to be “a cutie.”

The singer is Brandon Flowers, and last September before the album came out, he told Rolling Stone the song is about his parents.

Elsewhere around the Web, there are those that say his mom and dad met when they were both 15 and living in the same trailer park, and that Brandon Flowers has a fear of bearded men.

You can download A Dustland Fairytale or the entire Day & Age album from Amazon.com.
