More posts like this: Obama, animals, buzz, news, pop culture.

Michelle Obama will hit the cover of People magazine on Friday with a story about Malia and Sasha’s new life in the White House, but world news outlets have already extracted the most important morsel.

Here’s the Los Angeles Times story: “First Dog will be a rescued Portuguese water dog, says Michelle Obama.”

The Chicago Tribune’s Washington bureau plays it a little more conservatively: “Obamas Portuguese water dog-hunting.”

Regular readers of Janet’s Planet will recall that Ms. Dahl nominated the Portuguese Water Dog way back on January 12.
